New Year’s Resolution

I know this is kind of late but here it goes. I know people always have these New Year’s resolution that end up lasting like a month or two at most. What I’m saying is that I’m not making resolutions, I’m making changes in my life.

1. Near the end of 2011, I started to realize the people that are in my life. As you grow older, you start to see the people that are there for you. You start to realize that some people that were your best friend in high school have moved on, and the family you thought you had in college just kind of turned your back on you. What I want to do is keep the few people in my life that I know I can trust to be there for me. Quality over Quantity.

2. Most people’s New Year’s resolution is to lose weight or look like one of the Victoria’s Secret models. What I am going to do is just eat healthier and workout more. Near the end of 2011, I started eating more junk food. When Barney and Robin were dating each other in “How I Met Your Mother,” I started getting what they called “relationship gut.” It’s time to cut down on the junk food and the portion sizes and up my workout plan.

3. During this winter break, I think I’ve cried the most in a week than I have this entire year because I’ve been constantly fighting with my parents over my boyfriend. They just are thinking way to far in the future. Asian parents….But this one dinner I had with my dad touched me the most. He explained the concept of the “hand-off.” The hand-off is when the father gives his daughter away to the one she is going to marry. When he explain it to me, I’ll admit I cried a little because I was so touched. It brought us to much closer. With that, I want to push myself to do the best I can in school for my dad. He means the world to me.

4. Last but not least, I will try my best to use my Tumblr more!

This Kid…

I would never have expected to like this kid so much. He makes me laugh, smile, and just have fun. He’s not ashamed to be with me. He may have his stupid moments, but I kind of think it’s cute sometimes. He just makes me happy, and sometimes I don’t understand why people can’t just accept it.

His friends and family are amazing. I’ve gotten so close to all of them. Going down there this past weekend to watch the Pacquiao fight with family make me want to be part of it. When I met one of his uncles, he told me that I am very lucky to be him with. He’s right about that.

A kid that makes me miss him even though I just saw him, a kid that makes me giddy like a girl to the point where my friends are saying that it’s weird in a good way though, and a kid that makes me laugh, smile, and not take things so seriously….is definitely a keeper.

This kid right here….

I suck at comforting my friends when they’re mad, so I try and make them laugh
